Visitor statistics for this site
This site first appeared in January 2008. Although of mainly of local interest, visitor numbers have increased. The graph below illustrates this.
In October and November 2008 the most visited page was that dealing with the proposed new sewage treatment works for Lydford. This shows that there was significant interest in this project. Apart from the SWW exhibition on 7th October, this website was the only publically available source of detailed information on the proposal during the parish council's consultation period. This may well explain a number of the visits.
The large increase in numbers in 2010 was due to a number of reasons. There was a nationwide rise in interest in campaigning websites and blogs. The problems duscussed on this site in relation to Lydford Parish Council crop up in other parish and town councils so are perhaps of wider interest than one might think.
Visitor numbers peaked in the fourth quarter of 2010. This was when numerous attempts were made to hack into this website. The logs show these attempts but it is not clear who was behind the attacks. None were successful but they would have had a significant effect on website traffic. In 2011 visitor numbers dropped back to more reasonable levels.
