Carmarthenshire Planning blog http://carmarthenplanning.blogspot.com/ Originally a blog dealing with really worrying issues with the planning process in Carmarthenshire. It now covers a range of issues. Frequently updated and well written.
St Neots blog http://snrednek.blogspot.com/ Another excellent and frequently updated blog highlighting issues local to St Neots in Cambridgeshire.
Cardinham is a parish in Cornwall. This site http://www.cardinhamparishexposed.co.uk/ well illustrates the need for better regulation of councils at the Town/Parish level.
Hemingbrough Bear Garden http://hemingbroughbeargarden.blogspot.com/ This blog has been very active in exposing issues concerning Hemingbrough Parish Council. It is well written and illustrated. It was expected that activity would be scaled back after the May 2011 elections as new councillors were elected then but unfortunately this did not bring significant improvements. This is a great disappointment as one tends to see similar problems cropping up in other town and parish councils including, of course, Lydford. After a quiet period this blog is quite active again.
Closed or dormant sites:-
The folowing sites are no longer active but deserve special mention for what they have achieved.
Muck and Brass blog http://muckandbrass.blogspot.com/ This excellent blog dealt with issues in the town of Somerton in Somerset. It has generated interest in the goings-on at the town council and significant changes have taken place. The blog was mothballed but occasional occasional postings have started appearing.
Crewkerne Blog http://www.crewkernetowncouncilstinks.com/ A website with associated guestbook dealing with issues in Crewkerne in Somerset. It succeeded in exposing familiar problems with local democracy and in generating local interest. The site closed after the local elections in May 2011.
Lydford Parish Office http://lydfordparishoffice.co.uk This was Lydford Parish Council's new website. It was set up in February 2009 by one councillor who understood the need for openness and could see the potential of the Internet. The site helped comply with freedom of information legislation. Unfortunately that councillor left. After 2009 the site was not updated and went offline in January 2011.
